Welcome to the Schools’ Buying Hub South West

The Hub is a free to use procurement service funded by the Department for Education to help schools, academies and MATs across the South West save time and money by running competitive tenders for high value goods and services, as well as answering any general procurement related queries. We can help devise three-year buying plans, assist with the management and delivery of procurements, and signpost towards DfE recommended national deals.

So far, we’ve helped over 1000 schools, academies and MATs who have benefitted from unlimited advice, guidance and support; many utilising the Hub to retender high value contracts such as catering, cleaning, grounds maintenance and managed ICT services.

We can offer:

Advice and guidance on buying

Support with high-value complex contracts, in areas such as catering, cleaning, premises and technology services

Promotion of local collaboration, where there is an opportunity to reduce costs

Schools’ Buying Hub South West has:

Supported schools, academies and MATs
Identified savings on non-staff expenditure

From Bath to Bournemouth; Swindon to St Ives… our procurement experts have visited every corner of the South West helping schools and MATs with their procurement priorities.

“I can understand why some schools are afraid of these processes, but the Hub’s team helped us a lot with their down-to-earth, professional approach.”

Debbie Beazer,
SBL, Blackhorse Primary.

“I have to say that the paperwork and analysis of the bids that we received was amazing. None of us would ever have had the time to put together such a comprehensive list of reports and supporting information which is factual and evidence based. Also we all felt that, from a governing body point of view, the amount of supportive data has allowed us to all be confident that we are making an informed decision based on a totally transparent and fair process, which is brilliant.”

Denise Hickson,
School Business Manager, Wheatfield Primary School

“The Hub provided a comprehensive free service for our grounds maintenance contract. From the structured tender pack, with robust evaluation criteria, to the questions to ask, we felt supported at all stages.”

Avril Steel,
Former SBL at Trinity Anglican-Methodist Primary School

“Without your assistance I would never have been able to obtain the price I did on ICT hardware equipment, so glad I used Schools’ Buying Hub! Made my life so much easier!”

Natasha Shadwell,
School Business Manager, Bellefield Primary and Nursery School
